Miami Swim Week 2025: Honoring 25 Years of Melissa Odabash’s Swimwear Legacy
July 2025
Miami Swim Week 2025 marked a very special milestone for us here at Melissa Odabash as we celebrated 25 years of luxurious swim and resort wear with an unforgettable runway presentation at the Bass Museum of Art. This wasn’t just another fashion event it was a heartfelt tribute to the journey we’ve taken over the past two and a half decades. Since the beginning, Melissa has redefined luxury swimwear, seamlessly blending timeless design with entrepreneurial spirit.
This showcase cemented Odabash’s legacy as a pioneer who reshaped swimwear into a full-blown lifestyle category. Her 25-year milestone wasn’t just a celebration, it was a reflection on how the brand has become a global symbol of effortless style, worn by women around the world who value quality, confidence, and elegance. As Melissa put it:
“I’m proud to say I was one of the first to truly pioneer that shift and build a brand around it.”
That shift toward a more thoughtful, empowered, and lifestyle driven approach to beachwear remains at the core of her vision. This was all shown in the exclusive sneak peek of the 2026 collection Melissa’s dedication shines through in these designs, and it was incredible to see them unveiled at such a remarkable event and venue.
Drawing on her iconic 1970s inspirations, courtesy of her mother’s sunny style, Melissa revisited her classic silhouettes showcasing several current pieces she’s especially proud of. Kelly Bensimon stunned in Geneva in black, a sleek, sculpted one-piece. Also debuting were the Nassau in pink, a standout statement suit the Faro in black, featuring bold cut-outs and strong lines. The collection captured everything the brand stands for: confident, feminine silhouettes, vintage flair, and a fresh, effortless take on classic swimwear.
We debuted exclusive runway-only creations that showcase Melissa’s design precision and craftsmanship. These unique pieces pay tribute to some of our earliest favourites, breathing fresh life into vintage prints and iconic silhouettes. Think reimagined 70s-inspired beading, luxe hardware, and statement cut-outs reminiscent of the first beaded one-offs worn by legends like Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks, all refreshed with a contemporary edge. It’s a powerful reminder of how our heritage designs continue to inspire swimwear today.
