Ruched Swimwear is Melissa Odabash's gathered-fabric collection, spanning bikinis and one-pieces in metallic, red, marine and ocean premium Italian swim fabric, built around fabric that shapes a silhouette more gently than built-in structure.
Melissa Odabash's design team returns to one idea more than most: that gathered fabric can shape a silhouette more gently than any built-in structure. Ruched Swimwear is where that idea shows up most consistently across the wider collection, in metallic, red, marine and ocean, spanning the styles built specifically around the technique. It is a construction choice as much as a decorative one, applied wherever a softer, more forgiving line suits the silhouette better than a fixed structure.
The
Panarea Black Swimsuit and
Sydney Black Swimsuit lead the edit, ruching at the underbust and centre front respectively for a fitted, sculpted line, while the
Bodrum Green Swimsuit brings the same gathered construction to an asymmetric, one-shoulder silhouette. The
Balearic Red Swimsuit sits alongside them in the same colour story with a cleaner, more graphic alternative. Cut from premium Italian swim fabric with SPF 50+ protection, every piece resists chlorine and sun oils while holding its shape through repeated wear, season after season rather than fading by the second.
For the full one-piece edit built around this construction, see
Ruched Swimsuits; otherwise, style any piece here with a kaftan from
Beachwear and minimal jewellery from
Accessories. Gathered fabric is one of the quieter ways a swimsuit can flatter. A gathered fabric flatters quietly, without needing a print to do the same work.
