This week's Monday Motivation is a healthy yet delicious recipe that can be used for breakfast, afternoon snack or even to help satisfy any after dinner sweet tooth.
With simple, yet nutritional eating becoming more and more mainstream thanks to personalities such as Deliciously Ella, Madeline Shaw and The Body Coach the chia seed has become a staple ingredient to feature in your diet over the last year or so.
Chia Seeds are an amazing source of healthy omega-3 fats, phosphorus and calcium, and fortunately it's an easy food to add to your diet. A 30g serving of chia provides an average adult with a third of their daily fibre intake which is important for digestive health, as well as nearly 10% of an adult's daily protein recommendation.
On top of all that thanks to their abilities to expand when in liquid these little seeds swell and help to keep to keep us all fuller for longer - which also means less snacking on the wrong foods - YEY!
At Odabash Head Office our chia seed supplies are constantly in need of topping up as we use them in shakes and sprinkled over yogurt and fruit for breakfast, but without a doubt our favourite way to eat chia seeds is to put together a scrumptious Chia Seed Pudding.
Our favourite recipe sounds a pretty naughty one, but actually is packed full of scrumptious ingredients all of which have great health benefits. Pop all of this together in a bowl and leave to soak for ideally 6-8 hours for the chia seeds to absorb as much liquid as possible. Then sprinkle over some toppings and enjoy!
