If you follow either Melissa's personal Instagram or our @melissaodabashdesign Instagram account it will have been hard to miss that some of the Odabash team spent last week in the sunny Bahamas shooting next year's SS17 collection look book.
To say the shoot was a success would be an understatement and although Melissa is passionate about her designs and an excellent model director thanks to her year's of experience in that profession, it's the accommodation that she can't stop talking about since her return.
Described as soon as she walked back into the office yesterday as 'a hidden gem' we knew we would have to quiz her and find out a little bit more about what made this place so magical...
Melissa has informed us taht the Tiamo resort is not simply just a stunning location in it's own right, but also the only eco resort in the whole of the Bahamas, which is something that has really impressed her. The accommodation is sustainably built with local pinewood and thatched roofs, all of the scrumptious seafood is locally caught and various ingredients used for cooking is also grown within the resort - oh and there's a Michelin trained chef fusing these ingredient together to create all of the amazing meals you will eat there too. It is also so secluded, that the only way of reaching the island is by boat or sea-plane, meaning you can have that true feeling of escapism!
Thanks to the natural setting of the Tiamo resort, this desert island offers visitors truly unique scenes of wildlife for the duration of the stay. Just some of the the sightings Team Odabash have told us about so far were iguanas roaming the island, dolphins springing out of the ocean whilst everyone was eating breakfast and even stingrays swimming around whilst they bathed in the sea, although Melissa's personal favourite was the emergence of a galaxy of starfish in the shallows overnight.
Before and after the day's work there was also time for the team to fit in some all important exercise. With numerous options available such as paddle-boarding, canoeing and jet-skiing, but at the top of the list was snorkeling; thanks to the island offering some amazing coral reefs ready to explore.
During the debrief Melissa told us that this was the most stunning location she has ever visited and bearing in mind how well-traveled Melissa is, that has easily convinced we have to pay the Tiamo resort a visit too.
We aren't the tiniest bit jealous that we had to stay in London and hold down the fort...
