Well, that was short but sweet!
London Fashion week has now been and gone and as the cobbles of Somerset House breathe a sigh of relief that they will no longer be clomped on by heels all day, and night, we have spent the day deciding what fashion delights we wanted to share with you.
In the style stakes London definitely knows how to cram a lot of content into a very short space of time, with the constant stream of shows our Instagram's have hardly been able to cope with the about of pictures flooding onto our news feeds and our constant refreshing so that we can see the trends as and when they are shown.
The past five days have made us very proud to be British and below we proudly present our top five trends of the last five days, and for the record, it was pretty tough having to narrow these down!
It's a good job most of the FROW come prepared with sunglasses as this season it's all about dressing to dazzle your audience! Metallics, silvers and shimmering fabrics littered the runways of London, we are personally LOVING the Biker Jacket and dress combo from Sass & Bide - we'll be at the front of the line when this comes into store.
Every season one texture or fabric dominates the catwalks and for A/W 15 it seems that it's the turn of sheer fabrics and the more appliquéd flowers are attached, the better! We are giving you advance warning ladies, this means maintaining our summer bodies, hiding under bulky knitwear will NOT be acceptable. next Autumn has a romantic air, think sheer, floaty and feminine - Simone Rocha has perfected this look.
MUSTARD. Not yellow, not, orange, not pumpkin (well, maybe on Halloween) Autumn Winter 2015 is ALL about mustard. Coats, skirts, dresses, tops, even socks and bags were paraded throughout London over the last few days. This trend is bright, vibrant and can't help but put smiles on our faces, after all fashion is meant to be FUN. Jasper Conran has embraced this trend with aplomb, the mustard on mustard skirt and skirt combo will definitely be making an appearance in our work wardrobe!
Yes, we know there seventies are back. Could the designers be doing any more to prove to us that this trend is the trend to trump all others. At NYFW we saw the seventies silhouettes, London decided to take a less subtle approach and simple add fringing to everything. Of course Burberry led the charge and had more fringing swinging down their catwalk than our eyes could keep up with - check out the new Bucket Bag it's top of our Lust Have list!
Yes, we know, it may not sound cool, but as you can see from the above images wearing clothes that look like your wallpaper looks GREAT. Brocade was seen everywhere this fashion week and we could not be happier. It's chic, it's timeless, it's floral, it can be done with any colour scheme, it's a winner. Erdem's green dress is simply divine, this is one instance when we will happily embrace what nature has to offer as these bold botanical prints have truly won us over, thanks mother nature!
