With New York Fashion Week well underway, we can't help but notice here at Odabash HQ a few trends starting to emerge. Here are some of our favourite looks of the new season so far and some of our favourite trends we can't wait to wear next Spring.
Making an appearance in our wardrobes yet again! Think layering with mesh, tennis skirts with oversized t-shirts, trainers with maxis. Anything goes! Take inspiration from Alexander Wang, DKNY and Rag&Bone.
We plan to start investing in draped whites and nudes, hunting down statement pieces in black and metallics and find great transitional pieces in burgundy as seen at Victoria Beckham. We're getting inspiration from Altuzarra thigh high splits, and we can't wait to find ourselves great structures skater skirts. We love the chic draping at Cushnie et Ochs and the subtle cut out details, very modern Grecian.
We love the sheer details for next spring, from the delicate sheer whites at Jason Wu, to the sporty sheer panels and mesh at Rebecca Taylor and the sheer skirts at Band of Outsiders. We can't wait to start layering up!
We love a monochrome palette with bright pops of colour! We need Prabal Gurung’s painted rain coats! Especially with this rain that’s just started here in London! The bright orange at Opening Ceremony will definitely brighten up a dull day! It’s so good to see Naomi walking the catwalks again at Diana von Furstenberg too!
We can't wait for the rest of the Fashion Weeks! Especially London, we're most excited to see Julien's collection! Watch out for the rest of our fashion week updates.

Thanks to Jamie Oliver we have discovered our new icey treat! Put down that Twister and make your blender your new best friend!
We wish we had thought of it sooner.
Place the bananas, berries, oats and apple juice in a liquidizer. Blitz for a few minutes until the berries and banana are completely smooth and the porridge oats are whizzed up. Taste for sweetness – if the bananas are lovely and ripe the mixture should be sweet enough, if not, add honey to taste. Divide the smoothie mixture into 12 ice-lolly moulds and freeze for at least 2 hours.
To give the lollies a chocolate coating, place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a small pan of simmering water. Make sure the water isn't boiling and the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water, or you will burn the chocolate. Stir until completely smooth, then take off the heat and leave for 5 minutes.
Wiggle the lolly sticks to loosen the lollies and lift them out. One by one, dip the tips of the lollies in the white chocolate and leave to set for a few minutes before serving.
A fun, pretty way to serve these lollies is to cover some flower-arranging oasis with fresh flowers, tinfoil or coloured tissue paper, and stick the lollies in. For an extra-special entrance, pop in a few sparklers – but be careful!

Coachella - kicking off the festival season in glamorous, mud-free style - is the place to be & be seen this weekend. With weekend one out of the way, we've a good idea of this years hot trends are - aside from the ubiquitous denim jean-shorts/bikini combo that is! Set in the ultra-chic & super-hot Palm Springs, the order of the days last weekend was easy, printed cotton sundresses & matching bralet & skirt sets, eclectic bohemian looks, with a smattering of 'collected on my travels' jewellery & a look those LA girls do so well, chic basic layers in luxe fabrics topped off with buttery-soft, well-worn leather jackets. Which look will you be sporting down at the front at your festival of choice?

Well, another year is here - happy 2013 everyone, I hope you're feeling refreshed & revitalised & ready for a great year ahead! I arrived back from a super-sunny trip to my house in Florida last weekend & threw myself straight back into work - January is a super-busy time for us at Melissa Odabash HQ as we're putting out designs into practice & starting production of samples for our 2014 collection. Very exciting but very hectic!
