Fly Me Away...with Banyan Tree Resorts

This year, it seems as though this winter is never going to end - though we're sure it will, eventually! To hurry along the warmer months, Melissa Odabash has teamed up with the luxury travel gurus at Select Collection to find some of the hottest destinations for the holiday season.

Wow - with it's inviting sapphire waters and white beaches, Banyan Tree Samui offers a destination that combines pampering with tranquillity on the exotic island of Koh Samui. Overlooking the scenic Lamai Bay, the resort is nestled in a series of cascading terraces on a private hill cove in the south-eastern coast of Koh Samui.

We'll be sunning ourselves in our 'Jorie' peach kaftan - light, easy to throw on & the perfect muted shade to show off a great tan acquired on the resort's incredible beach. For later on, we'll be teaming our cotton embroidered 'Toya' dress with some simple metallic flats & a few bangles for an easy but chic bar-side look.

This summer, we can't wait to feel the sun on our skin, the sand under our feet and time on our hands. That's why Banyan Tree Seychelles, located on the picturesque south-western coastline of Mahé is high on our list of must-visit places. The beautifully presented Creole-style pool villas welcome you along with unspoiled beaches of the Indian Ocean. The perfect place to truly unwind, relax & forget about the real world, if only for a fortnight.

We'll be packing a super-chic but sexy 'Paris' bikini, in bold yellow to show off our tan, as well as our 'Cameron' Panama hat, a classic that will look great year after year.

Take us here immediately!

With unrivalled panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, Banyan Tree Ungasan, overlooks a pure white beach The promise of perfect blue waters and golden sunshine offers the antidote to the demands of modern life.

We can just see ourselves, lounging by the pool in a silk 'Hollie' kaftan, drink in hand, a 'Jemima' wide-brimmed hat perched on our heads glamorously!

Yes it does. Although to the average Western posern wearing a Gucci bikini may be extremely fashionable under a silk see-through blouse, the Thai people respect that your body is covered. Temples are churches, so to speak, and you certainly wouldn’t wear such items to a Sunday church service. In fact, you may be asked to leave. If you’re on the beach then this is an accepted practice, although nudity is frowned upon, except by the vendors who mostly enjoy seeing naked people with very white skin!
