  • London Fashion Week AW14: Round Up

As the tumbleweed passes through Somerset House, the models get some sleep and everyone pack's up to do it all over again in Milan - we bring you our A/W 14 trend round up from London Fashion Week.

Whether it be Apricot, Papaya or Tangerine, an array of Orange shades beamed across the catwalks, specifically in the form of Winter coats - the perfect way to brighten up the dreary Winter's of London.

The Key: Don't let this bright colour put you off, just remember if you do go bold in orange - choose the right shade for your skin tone.
Porcelain skins can avoid looking too washed out by wearing the shade below the waist. However if you have cool tones - stay away from the red tints, Calvin Klein's true Orange skirt is perfect for you.
Olive skinned ladies look great in Apricot to emphasise their Mediterranean skin, just like Antipodium's Fur Collared Coat; and if you have dark skin? Well you will look good in any shade of Orange so take advantage and embrace this trend at full force!

Taking inspiration from Abstract art, Graphic prints were seen head to toe from Peter Pilotto and Roksanda Illinic.
Central Saint Martins taught Hiroko Nakajimi spread the graphic trend by incoorporating it into her knitwear designs, so go ahead and embrace your inner Mondrian this Winter with 'Go Graphic'.

The Key: Choose styles that focus their print on the most flattering part of your body; this way you will draw attention to your best bits and distract from any you're not so proud of!

Prom Queen and Jock are two characters we constantly see paired together, and this Autumn Winter, Ashish and Christopher Kane have taken that idea even further with some very glamorous Varisty inspired pieces.
The Varisty trend has popped up numerous times throughout the last year, but this time it's about finding a balance, making sure not to lose focus on your femininity in this look.

The Key: Sequins, glitter and pearls - the go-to embellishments from this look to keep things feminine. Push this trend with some feminine joggers, or keep it clean and smart with a body con midi skirt and minimalist heels.
