Melissa Launches Debut Mastectomy Swimwear Collection!

Just as we anticipated, the launch of The Future Dreams Mastectomy Swimwear range came and went before we knew it; On Tuesday evening, we had the privilege of hosting the event for Melissa’s debut mastectomy line at Fenwick’s flagship London store on New Bond Street and with the grand support of our guests and all of those involved, the event was a major success!

The collaboration saw Melissa Odabash and breast cancer charity Future Dreams unite to create an innovative range of Mastectomy swimwear that caters to a variety of-post surgery requirements, whilst maintaining Melissa’s stylish aesthetic, luxury fabric and trademark animal print!

Battling their own experiences with cancer, whether it be personally or with a loved one, the team at Future Dreams have been a constant source of inspiration throughout our journey to collection, offering their diverse knowledge; and without them, we would have not had the chance to invite the inspiring Jacquie Beltrao, Future Dreams ambassador and Sky News presenter, who after openly discussing her own experiences of breast cancer and undergoing a mastectomy, is now the face of the collection.

The event was hosted in the exclusive setting of Rhubarb’s Bond & Brook bar and restaurant in Fenwick’s;
(Go and admire their jaw-dropping fashion library!).

On arrival our guests were greeted with champagne, elderflower fizz and an array of artistic canapés courtesy of Rhubarb, who got creative with their gluten, dairy and meat free aperitifs for those undergoing treatment.
Whilst guests browsed the debut collection, complimentary makeovers were offered by Lancôme who did their very best in ensuring our guests were feeling their best for all the snaps!

The room was full-to-the-brim thanks to the amazing support which was clear to see when the event sold out weeks in advance!
Appearances from Kelly Hoppen, Lauren Kemp, Yasmin Mills; Leah McFall and Lady Nadia Essex were testament to the worthwhile cause behind the launch.

The speeches commenced with some truly personal and touching words from Melissa and the inspirational Jacquie whose positive demeanor has shone from start to end of this journey.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when special guest and best-selling author of Cancer Is My Teacher Lucy O’Donnell spoke about thriving in the face of her diagnosis whilst renowned nutritionist Vicki Edgson advised her top 5 tips on clean eating and fighting cancer - we loved her last one, HAVE FUN!>

As the night came to an end, guests left chatting about the positive awareness of the collaboration that we frankly believe, is well overdue! Knowing the personal struggles and triumphs of breast cancer sufferers we knew we had been part of an incredibly worthwhile collaboration and hope that the collection can lift a weight off the shoulders of those who most deserve it!

View the collection exclusively now at Fenwick, New Bond St!
