Ask the Expert: Tamara Ecclestone - SHOW Beauty Creative Director

This month we chat to SHOW Beauty Creative Director Tamara Ecclestone about her role in the company, what inspired her to launch a haircare brand and of course, what hairstyles are popular with her daughter.

You could have ventured into any industry, what inspired you to start a business centred around hair care?

I felt there was a gap in the luxury hair care market, I wanted to create something that was not only an amazing product line, but also that does what is says, looks beautiful and smells luxurious.

If you were stuck on a desert island which one SHOW product would you take with you and why?

I would choose the Treatment Oil as it works amazingly when hair is dried out from the sunshine, it can be used just on the ends or all over hair like a salon treatment.

You lead a glamorous lifestyle and have lots of exciting events and photo shoots, how do you keep your hair in good condition with so much styling?

I love to use the Moisture Mask on my hair whenever I can if I'm at home, I leave it on for an hour or so before shampooing my hair. When I'm not working I love to let my hair air dry - I just shampoo and use the leave in conditioner my ends are never frizzy that way.

You’re involvement with SHOW must be really diverse, can you talk us through a typical day?

Every day is different! From product development meetings, press briefings, website and social media brain storms to photo shoots abroad and retailer meetings. No single day or week is the same which is really exciting.

There are now a number of SHOW blow dry bars in London and this is a very competitive industry, what do you believe makes a SHOW blow dry the best?

I believe SHOW Dry offers a truly bespoke and luxury service which is quick, you don't need compromise on luxury but also can be in and out in 30 mins. Lets be honest, no one wants to spend all day at the salon, yet we all want beautiful blow drys. We are also the only salons in Europe to offer Hair Lingerie extensions which I believe are the best on the market, they are so quick to put in and remove last two months and truly don't damage hair like the single bonds do.

You have a beautiful daughter Sophia, what is your favourite way to style her hair?

Fifi is loving wearing her hair in a braid, like queen Elsa from Frozen.

Do you have any haircuts or styles where you look back and wonder what you were thinking?

We know we do haha! I look back to when I had very blonde hair - it was a mistake!

What smell reminds you of holiday the most and why?

Sunscreen, especially nowadays. I am neurotic about putting it on Fifi and it brings back memories of my Mum doing the same with me.

Where is the best beach you’ve ever visited? The beach at the Four Seasons in the Maldives is incredible.

How do you adapt your beauty routine on holiday? I never wear make up on holiday, I like to really relax my beauty regime on holidays. I'll have a shellac manicure before I leave and that will last for the length of the trip, so I don't need to do anything while I am away.

What’s your go-to beach hairstyle? Braids or a messy bun.

Born in Milan and educated in London, Tamara is the eldest daughter of Formula One legend Bernie Ecclestone and former Armani model Slavica. Tamara relishes the challenges of being a wife and mother, whilst building on her passion for business and beauty. Following in her family’s footsteps, Tamara began her career at F1 magazine while also modelling for Armani. Tamara has furthered her professional path, becoming a successful broadcast personality, and now founder and creative director of the hugely successful international beauty brand SHOW Beauty which launched in 2013.
